Foreign editions are odd animals...

They come home late, and dishevelled, and looking vaguely shifty, and refuse to tell you where they've been all this time.

One of mine arrived today. TODAY. October 16, two thousand and EIGHT. This edition was published back in 2007 - and it turns up on my doorstep now, like a prodigal child.

Ah well. It's the Brazillian edition. I guess it stayed for the Carnival and got a little hung over and thought it would sleep it off and it all took a little longer than anticipated...

Congratulations!

I have never seen even one of my foreign editions. There must be about ten of them floating around over the years but for all I know, the publishers pay me and then don't publish the book.

It must be really fun to see your work in another language.

Was it in fact published in 2007, or was it just scheduled for 2007 but came out late?

I didn't read the heading of this and thought you were talking about children until I hit "this edition." For a moment it was great- oohh, she traded in her child for a better version...wait, I think my mom wants to do that! Er...

Anyway congrats, and I suggest a welcome home party with Brazilian cake!
