While I was staying with eneit at Christmas 2007 I saw multiple snippets of The Bee Movie - eventually I got to see the whole thing a couple of months later - and thought 'wouldn't it be a wake-up call to the human race if bees DID go on strike'.
The human race needs to have a big dose of humility shoved upon it - we are totally fracking the world until, as you say, it will all be paved over and owned by someone.
