- just as I'm swimming back to being conscious - my dreams...

...roll credits across my still-closed eyelids.

I couldn't really make them out, it was like trying to read them through someone else's spectacles and anyway I was already more or less awake and the "house lights" were coming up fading the projection on the eyelid-screen, but... REALLY.

*CREDITS*.

I don't know whether to be astonished, amused, afraid, or affronted.

Yes, AFFRONTED. They're my dreams, dammit. If they listed anybody else with producer or director credits, I am going to have WORDS with my backbrain.

Anyway, I wouldn't want others to be so quick to claim the credit for any of this. Tonight's dreamshow included, but was not limited to, a recipe for a cabbage dish with lima beans that came in two varieties, hot and mild, and I was wondering in-dream what kind of beans to substitute for the lima beans because [livejournal.com profile] rdeck, who eats most anything, REALLY dislikes lima beans; searching for some sort of immigrant mafia in the back of an ethnic restaurant (perhaps that's where the cabbage recipe came from - and when I say "immigrant" I mean it was nebulous, the mafia might have been Russian but the restaurant smelled Thai...); and a fabric which came with a warning that it should not be worn in close proximity to anything metallic because of a danger of spontaneous combustion, illustrated by an image of a homely middle-aged bride bursting into flames at the altar while having a wedding ring put on her finger and looking very surprised about that.

Now, honestly. CREDITS.

Have to go now. Time for some errands.

Credits. [Exits, shaking head.]

I think your brain was trying to blame the dreams on someone else. :P (Maybe it was Alan Smithee -- the pseudonym for directors who disown a project.)

Ha ha! I've never had credits, but I do recall a dream where there was so much going on, I thought to myself (during the dream), this has way too many plotlines--I need to decide on one!

I've had credits on dreams when I worked at a movie theatre.

Love it. I haven't been remembering my dreams, so consciously I am dreamless. Now I have dream envy.

At least you didn't have any dancing soda cups singing, "Let's go out to the lob-BEE...."

That's because I fully woke up and "disconnected the screen" before it got to that point. I wouldn't put it past my subconscious to charge me at a concession stand.

I once dreamed that I was playing on a playground with a little girl, and told her "I have to go now. It's time to wake up."

Which I did- seconds before the alarm went off.

Wow, evidently your dreams have gone Hollywood. When I was a child, I discovered I could "change channels" in my dreams if things got scary, but so far no credits.

I did have Tom Baker appear as Dr. Who in a dream once.

[livejournal.com profile] suzimoses told me about getting credits on the end of her dream, once. (I think, like [livejournal.com profile] pixelfish, she'd been watching a lot of movies at the time. And possibly was also on a medication that made her dreams even weirder than usual.)

It hadn't occurred to me to ask who was being credited!
