Yesterday I put my wretched shoulder out AGAIN. This time it wouldn't go back in - I usually manage to shove the damned thing back into its socket when it does these unplanned dislocations, and then it hurts like hell, but it's okay after a while. Yesterday, for a full fifteen or twenty minutes, it was just OUT and I was in shivering screaming agony - [livejournal.com profile] debtaber is an angel and drove [livejournal.com profile] rdeck and me all the way to a walk-in clinic - which was closed - and then to three separate pharmacies looking for a shoulder brace - and every ONE of them was out, what is it, was there a run of shoulder dislocations in town this week or what? - and somewhere in there I put the shoulder back in, and I had the range of movements again but hot damn it hurt, and I spent most of the early part of last night awake and uncomfortable, unable to stir without whimpering, finally I woke up [livejournal.com profile] rdeck and he found some strain/sprain lotion we had in the house and massaged my shoulder and the CATS got all upset and I finally got back to some sort of fitful sleep well after three or maybe even half past three ayem and I woke up and it STILL hurt so I stood it under a hot shower for half an hour and that helped a bit but it's still weak and feeble and tender and I can't lift anything or push anything and the cats think I'm mad at them because I can't reach for them to pet them like they're used to and apparently the shoulder thing has made me forget how to use punctuation altogether...

I'm off travelling in less than ten days. I already realise that whatever luggage I take along with me, if it needs lifting somewhere, *someone else is going to have to do it for me*. I will not spend my nine days in Japan with my right arm in a sling.

Feh.

Anyway. Nothing in the mail but bills, I'm whittling down the list of things that must be done before I leave so that I try not to leave too many untidy loose ends behind, we'll see how it goes from here.

But ye GODS. This shoulder. It's starting to look like I"m going to seriously look at physio.
