In the light of that June night, now nearly 5 years ago, when [livejournal.com profile] rdeck was felled by his own stroke, I listened to the woman speaking in this video, and I remembered my own reality of what went on that night, from the outside, from another point of view, another set of clues and sensations, another pair of eyes, another mind, another breaking heart. But she - she saw it all from the inside, and more than that, she saw it as a professional, as someone who worked with and understood human brain function.

And she comes off sounding more like a poet than a scientist at times. I guess that's what happens when your analytical half simply cuts out and leaves you coping with input you are no longer qualified to analyse.

Go take a listen. (it kind of freezes initially and tells you that there's a script busy and gives you an option to "continue" - or at least it does me - just click that and go right on, it'll take you to the video) It's about 19 minutes long - but it's the fastest 19 minutes that I've spent lately.

Powerful stuff.
