Wow, that's a lame name. I'd go with "The Treasure Chest."
I suppose it's to keep things from getting lost in there, or from sticking to skin? I have a reasonable-sized space between my girls, and I've been known to stash things in there when I'm carrying the big basket down to the laundry and don't have any pockets (usually my cell phone, keys, and quarters).
I consider that space the benefit that makes up for the annoying necessity of wearing a bra.
