The many shades of green

I went on garden inspection this morning. It's a riot out there. The bright greens of the tulip stems to the dark greens of the cedars, and then all the different shades of leaves which are now starting to drop the tender spring yellowish green in favour of the deeper shades of summer-to-come. And in between all of this, I have COLOUR. Red and yellow and pink tulips; dark blue and white hyacinths; a couple of bushes and a dogwood which are about to bloom white; one rhododendron which looks like it might have at least one or two pink flowers this year, another that might throw a few red ones, and a third that I can't remember what colour it was when we planted it - it hasn't bloomed since it was planted only last year - but I think it might be yellow. I have peonies coming up in five or six different locations, and an entire flowerbed taken over by lily of the valley which is about to burst into extravagant bloom. I am not really a gardener in the sense that I will devote my life to the perfect garden patch but man, I'm proud of what I've done out front. It's beautiful. It's roots. It's MY roots. It's the first place where *I* have planted something in the hopes of being here to watch it grow.
I've moved too many times. I'm staying here. I'm *staying*.
And in honour of the "it's not easy being green" theme, there is, of course, a quiz...
