Well, hello again.

The proofs are done. They're bundled up and waiting to be taken to the post office tomorrow. This is going to be a good-looking book, ladies and gentlemen, the cover is delicious and the presentation is wonderful (and even the story, if I do say so myself, isn't bad [grin]). From here on, though, it's out of my orbit - it's going to be primped, blurbed, pre-marketed, adn all that jazz, right until its release (I am told, early Feb 2007).
In the meantime, my life remains a headlong whirl. Tomorrow I am going to the dentist to have him look at a twinging filling (oh joy, can't wait). Later this week I need to take the car back to the shop to check up on oil leaks. Thursday night I need to start starving my poor husband until we can get to the lab on Friday morning so that they can do some bloodwork on him. Sometime this week I need to pay the slew of bills that have accumulated on my desk. And then it's the weekend again. And there's the writing workshop. And next week... well, I'll tell you about that next week.
And in between all of that, there's Book 2 which needs immediate attention.
I swear, even if they put me on four panels a day at Worldcon, it's going to seem like a holiday after the last few weeks.
I'm also waiting for my author's copies of the Spanish and Catalan editions of "Jin Shei", as well as hte Czech edition very shortly, and then the German edition in the fall; and there's "Embers of Heaven" and its September UK release to look forward to, as well.
Living is easy. Finding time and energy to do it, THAT's hard.
Oh, and here's what I'll leave you with for now:
