I just rigged a spider's web of wire over one of the planters. LOTS of room for an enterprising squirrel to squeeze through, of course, but it might act as deterrent - I don't know. We'll see. I got WOKEN UP THIS MORNING by the little buggers digging around in there, and I'm not having it, however funny my husband thinks I am being. If this doesn't work, it's chicken wire. And then flame throwers when I see a squirrel anywhere near there.

Writerly update again

Well, it's like this:

74,170 / 95,000 (78.1%)

The problem is that I no longer believe in that 95 000 words. If the rest of this novel works out, on average, with chapter lengths like the ones I've been having so far, I'm looking at more like at least between 105 000 and 110 000 somewhere. Let's split the difference and make it 107 000. Which then makes the situation just a littlel different:

74,170 / 107,000 (69.3%)

Either way. It's either pushing three quarters done, or it's just over three quarters done. And this last chapter wasn't bad, if I say so myself...

ALL RIGHT! Everyone else is in the freaking dungeon!

( And I did a lot of this stuff in my mis-spent youth... )
