Just WHY would you think that I would even bother to open an email *with an attachment* which has just "hi" in the subject line... and comes from an email address which purports to be "officeholder@nitwit.com"...?

In WHAT Universe...?!?

Really! Is this the newest way to try to phish us? I'm getting a lot of them. Fortunately, I've become a very suspicious and untrusting person, and I don't open anything from anyone I don't know.

Hope I'm not losing some fan mail that way. I make it a point of honor to answer ALL fan e-mails. Really, all.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of people on the internet who are, well, stupider than that spammer. Or not even stupid, but just ignorant about how the internet works, or mentally hiccupping in a particular way that isn't related to intelligence but may be related to age.

My mother, for instance, had to be admonished in firm tones not to even open email from someone she doesn't know. She's smart and educated and not suffering from alzheimer's; she just...didn't think people could or would do something bad via email.

What is really depressing is that some people must fall for these things, or they wouldn't send them.
