Dear Idiot Spamperson,

Just WHY would you think that I would even bother to open an email *with an attachment* which has just "hi" in the subject line... and comes from an email address which purports to be "officeholder@nitwit.com"...?

In WHAT Universe...?!?

Sigh.

Yabbut - as Louise said above there - I sometimes *do* get genuine email from people I don't know - people who, bless them, have read something I wrote and felt moved to tell me so. So unless the subject line or the return email is TRULY egregious and obvious, I tend to look at most things, just in case I miss something I don't WANT to miss.

Attachments, now - I hardly even open attachments from people I DO know, let alone strangers. There are very very very few people I trust enough to open an attachment from.

(and sorry, but the current rash of "you've got a postcard from a family member/friend/classmate/colleague/worshipper" (yes, WORSHIPPER - where do these people GET this stuff?!) just gets filtered straight out these days. If you want to send me a "postcard" tell me who you are - and I'll decide if I trust the information enough to open the card...)
