Seriously. No April fools. I've just watched hm sneak up to one of the pillars that holds up my deck and start gnawing at the base of it for all he's worth.

Yes, we DID put food out. Yes, despite all evidence to the contrary, it IS spring, and there has to be other food starting to be available.

So what gives with nibbling treated wood, dummy?... (He's still there as I type this, glaring at me in an affronted manner for having interrupted his activities. Weird little animal.)

In other news, the copy edit is done, and will be on its way tomorrow. One more thing to cross of my list.

The hackery is still present but down to a mild roar. I am cautiously optimistic about the reading tomorrow in VIllage Books.

Heh.

BTW, I had a substitute for my regular special ed aide at work today. She had some free time in my classroom, picked up Gift of the Unmage, and fell in love with the book and your writing. I told her about Spellspam as well--but you grabbed her in the first paragraph.

Tell her thanks from a grateful author - we're always happy to hear our stories found a good home...

Your squirrel's teeth might be too long and if so, he's filing them down. They do that I've read.

Truth. They're rodents, and their teeth just keep growing. Like rats. Tree rats...

All rodents need to gnaw.

I am sure that someone has mentioned that rodents have to keep gnawing all the time to wear down there teeth as they just keep growing. At our place the wood of the house and rubber hoses in the car are the favorite choice. We had one chew through a gasoline hose once so after that we keep the car in the barn where only the mice can chew on it. Sigh... And there are definitely places where the wood on the outside of the house is sadly worn and clearly chewed down a layer though not yet, thanks the Gods, all the way through.
